Gary is a Humanistic Integrative counsellor and holds an Advanced Diploma in Counselling. His approach means he draws upon several key styles of counselling - including Gestalt, Person-Centred and Emotional Focused Therapies - to provide a comprehensive way of working which can be tailored to the needs of the client. His style is warm, empathic and client-focused, whilst respectful and professional. He provides a non-judgmental and safe space in which to talk, explore and reflect upon thoughts and feelings, in order to find ways forward through our difficulties.

Working with individuals on a one-to-one basis, Gary provides counselling therapy to adults and older teenagers. His training enables him to incorporate elements of neuro-diversity and client experience, and to work with a range of client issues, including challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal ideation, relationship difficulties, and self esteem issues.

Gary believes that, as individuals, we all have the answers to our challenges within us and that given the right time, space and opportunity in counselling, we can nurture and find solutions for ourselves.

Previous experience has seen Gary provide counselling in a volunteer capacity for two years at the York St Johns University Mental Health Clinic in North Yorkshire, where he developed an empathic and non-judgemental approach to counselling. He is currently undertaking his Masters in Counselling, and joined the Invivo Therapies team in 2022.

Gary is a member of the BACP and works within their ethical framework for safe and professional practice. He abides by GDPR Data Protection regulations, holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate and professional indemnity insurance. Gary is currently available daytimes and evenings on Mondays.
